Admission Requirements :
Most of our programs do require that you have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent in order to be admitted. You may also need other courses or skills.
Mature student’s admissions requirements:
You are at least 21 years of age and have not graduated from secondary school with the required 12 U, M (U/C) or OAC credits and have been away from secondary school studies for at least two years, you may apply for admission as a mature student.
International Students

Certificates/Diplomas
Many of our courses lead to College Certificates or/and Diploma. Others lead to certification or accreditation by external professional or licensing bodies. In all cases, requirements are clearly outlined in your program information guide.
It is the graduates responsibility to request a certificate from the office coordinator.
Diploma programs generally involve formal admission, so the process for obtaining your diploma is different; please contact to the office coordinator for further assistant. Replacement certificates and diplomas are available,but must be requested from the Student Service Centre.
Certificate Requirements
Please note that certificate requirements may vary. Consult the program coordinator concerning minimum grade requirements per course, the minimum overall grade average or the minimum number of Stanford courses required for certificate completion.
How to Request a Certificate/Diploma
Ensure that a minimum 50% of the course or courses being applied to the certificate/diploma are Stanford International College courses.
Provide photocopies of all required grade reports or a transcript
Provide copies of exemption letters where applicable.
Include a cover letter with your full name and address, your current address and telephone number, the name of the completed program and your Student ID number.

Personal cheques are not accepted for replacement certificates/diplomas or transcripts.
Tax Receipt
The Revenue Canada certificate for income tax purposes (Form T2202A)https://steps.oacc.on.ca/stepsPublic/home/home.jspis your official income tax receipt. In accordance with Revenue Canada regulations, T2202A forms are only issued for tuition fees totaling $100 or more. Materials and administrative fees are not eligible for tax deduction.
Please have your student ID number available when you come enter the student site.
If you need to request a T2202A form for a prior year, please call 416-383-1608. Please note that a $20 administration fee will apply.

At the start of every course, the instructor is required to give course outline clearly specifying course content and the requirements for passing the course.

Grading Policies
A student can initiate an appeal process according to the complaint procedure. If he/she does not agree with the mark received for assessment. Every student has two attempts to pass each test and assignments.
Requirement for graduation will be successful completion of their entire subject course with an average grade of C or higher.
Attendance
Students at Stanford International College are required to attend school on a regular basis, punctual and throughout their course hours. Regular class attendance is essential.
Dress Code:
Clean casual presentable, halter tops, short shorts, and short cut-offs are inappropriate for school wear. Clothing bearing an inappropriate printed message will be judged.
Tardiness/absence:
Students are required to be on time for their scheduled classes, if the student is late for class he/she will be require calling letting a staff at the college know. Student’s with more than ?tardiness will not be allow entering the class and he/she will be mark 0% for that day.
Exceptions are made for students whom in advance notify a staff about their tardiness/absence.

Re-writes for exams
Missing an exam test is very serious if an emergency arises the student is responsible to call the school and let his teacher know before the time of the exam or as early as possible. The student will be responsible to provide written proof of his/her reason for missing the exam. The make up exam will be more difficult and the expectations higher
Re-taking a subject in the event of a Non Passing Grade
Students will have the opportunity to re-take a failure subject after failing two exams attempts.
If the student fails the subject again he/she will not be able to graduate from the course that the subject is mandatory.

A transcript is a complete record of the grades you earned while attending Stanford International College.
Cancellations
The College reserves the right to cancel or suspend courses, combine classes, change teachers or limit enrolment. Courses will be cancelled if there is insufficient enrolment or if the teacher cannot be suitably replaced. Every effort will be made to notify you of any cancellations or changes no later than one business day prior to the start date of your course. For this reason, you must include your home and business telephone numbers and an e-mail address on your registration form.
Sometimes the start date of a course is changed due to circumstances beyond our control. When this happens, all registered students are contacted and advised.

Withdrawals
If you stop attending your class without officially withdrawing, you will receive a failing grade that will be recorded on your grade report, and you will not receive a refund of fees.
To withdraw from a course without academic penalty (i.e., a grade of F), you must withdraw officially (in writing to the Student Service Centre) before 60% of the scheduled classes/meetings are held. You cannot withdraw on the web

prior to the start of class (refund less $20 administration charge)

Grade Appeals
Students who disagree with academic decisions are encouraged to discuss these first with their instructor. Students who are uncomfortable meeting with their instructor may speak to the office of the Principal. Requests to review grades must be made within ten days of receipt of the grade.
Conflict Process between an instructor and student
The student and teacher will be asked to an interview with the Principal of the school to discuss and resolve any disputes. If he/she is unable to find a resolution to the conflict the student and teacher will be ask to an interview with the director of the school.
Termination/Expel
Only the Principal and or the Director can actually order a student expelled. This usually does not occur with a recommendation from the college staff, he/she will notify in writing to the Principal and he/she will forward such recommendation to the Director with his/hers recommendation on the matter. Only then the Director will conduct a hearing to consider any recommendations from school site to expel the student. Within thirty school days of the principal's determination to recommend expulsion, the student is entitled to a hearing. The student receives written notice of an expulsion hearing at least ten days prior to the hearing.
Health and Safety Policy
Stanford International College of Business and Technology is determined to provide a safe work environment for all their employees and students. To ensure compliance of this goal and keeping with the Health and Safety Act and Regulations, all Stanford International College of Business and Technology employees and students are required :
- Undergo WHMIS training and other such training as may be required to further ensure proficiency and safety for each work assignment.
- Wear protective footwear (steel-toed boots/shoes) at all times during work assignments wherever required.
- Wear other personal protective equipment as required during work assignments wherever required.
- Observe and obey customer safety rules and regulations and conduct themselves in a safe manner at all times.
- Refrain form fighting, horseplay or any other such activity that may endanger the safety of themselves or others in the workplace.
- Not partake in the use of alcohol or controlled substances and must be free from impairment at all times during work assignments.
- Report all suspected or actual, unsafe or hazardous workplace conditions to a workplace supervisor and to AES if their concern has not been resolved satisfactorily.
- Report any workplace accident/injury regardless of how small to a workplace supervisor and Alternative Employment Services Ltd.
- Provide full cooperation in the investigation of workplace accidents.
- Stanford is a smoke-free environment.
Failure to comply with this Health & Safety Policy may result in the termination of any assignment and/or disciplinary action up to and including the termination of your employment.
Stanford International College of Business and Technology shares this responsibility with its employees and students and is committed to promptly investigate and act upon any unsafe workplace condition or injury and adopt all corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence.

Services
Stanford International College does offer the graduates with Employment Assistance; we work close with many employment agencies in order to develop an effective employment relationship to our graduates.
In case of an agreement with a Company/Manufacturing or Business Corporation willing to participate, we offer Co-op placement for Stanford’s graduates, for about 3months. Mostly placement is based on academic standards, however all student’s are given from the beginning equal consideration.
The office of the Principal at Stanford International College offers a variety of services to assist registed full time, part-time students in their academic success, personal concerns and services for international students, Stanford also facilitates cross-cultural experiences for both international and Canadian students.
Stanford International College main campus is located in a convenient location accessible by public transportation as well as personal vehicles. Also a free parking lot is conveniently available for all students and staff, which has always accommodated enough space for this purpose.
Dispute resolution procedure
Stanford's mission is to develop and promote appropriate methods for understanding, managing and resolving domestic and international conflicts. Unresolved matters would be reftered to Principal or Director. In order for both parties to mutually conclude a positive an acceptable settlement. |
