| Interprovincial Red Seal certificate pre-exam course is designed for welders interested in taking the Ministry of Training Interprovincial exam / certification. There is no prerequisite to take our course, however the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) requires a welder to have at least 6000 hours (3 years) work experience to be eligible to write the exam and all-position SMAW (stick) qualification from the CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau).
Each class will begin with one hour of welding theory in classroom environment. We will cover the four modules of the Canadian Welding Bureau Interprovincial Red Seal Welder Upgrade Program. The last two hours of each class (24 hrs in total) will be spent in the welding shop practicing on test plates in class F,H,V,O (flat, horizontal, vertical up, overhead) positions.
